đ˘ A Difficult Update: Weâve Been HackedâNot Once, But Twice.

This is one of the most painful posts Iâve ever had to write.
Our Spin A Yarn India Facebook pageâthe heart of our storytelling community, where we preserved voices, memories, and generational wisdomâhas been hacked. Years of work. Thousands of hours. Personal messages. Community conversations. Gone.
Even harder to share:
Around the same time, our digital story archivesâthe carefully maintained libraries of recorded oral histories and contributions from parents, grandparents, and storytellers across Indiaâwere also targeted in a server hack.
Entire story libraries have been corrupted or wiped.
It feels like watching a fire consume a house built with your bare hands.
Not just any houseâa house made of other peopleâs voices⌠stories that may never be told again.
Weâve reached out to Facebook, followed every process, submitted proof, waitedâonly to be met with silence.
No resolution. No access. No response.
And yet, here we are. Still standing.
Because Spin A Yarn India was never just a Facebook page.
And it was never just about stories.
It is about who we are.
It is a tribute to our elders.
It is a quiet revolution against cultural erasure.
And it is a love letter to every child who deserves to hear a bedtime story in their mother tongue.
Hereâs What Comes Next:
We are beginning the long road to recover and rebuild.
We are working day and night to salvage what we can from our backups, to rebuild the archives, and to lay the foundation for a stronger, safer, more resilient platform.
It will take time. It will take energy. But it will never lack heart.
We are not giving up.
Because stories donât disappearâthey hide, they wait, and then⌠they return.
How You Can Help:
𧥠Share this message.
đď¸ If you have submitted a story in the past, reach outâwe want to recover your voice.
đ Stay with us as we launch new pages, new platforms, and new ways of honouring memory.
This is not the end of Spin A Yarn India.
It is the next chapter.
Thank you, deeply, to everyone who has walked with us so far.
Weâre not just rebuilding a platform. Weâre reclaiming a future.
With love,
Anup Deshmukh
